The goals for Elementary Technology will continue to evolve until a full cycle has been completed. This year's 4th graders will be the first group to go all the way through the program, so changes along the way are to be expected. When the program was implemented, it was determined that keyboarding should be the primary goal. Once students learn the correct fingering and keyboarding skills, then all of their work can be completed quicker and with greater accuracy--it's the best foundation, and it's something that all students are capable of. I have listed some of the other topics below.

MLA REPORTS (finished)

The 6th graders just completed setting up and formatting an MLA report complete with internal documentation and a Works Cited page. This topic was touched upon briefly during the end of 5th grade, but this year they learned all the pieces. I'd still call this introductory because they haven't been able to practice the skills, but at least it's all familiar now. Some of the specific areas covered include:

All students should know how to work with images, to obtain them, use them, format them, etc. Pictures are such a great way of sharing thoughts, feelings, and keeping things interesting! I hope to have a chance to do this with my 6th graders, but right now it's hard to say. Specific areas include:
