Wiki Editors

-----The class wiki contains materials and notes from class.  This space is for the STUDENTS to contribute materials and information and collaborate to help each other be successful in class.  Students who edit and add to this soace will receive bonus points based on the QUALITY of their contribution.  The class wiki can be found here.

Class Scribes

-----I post files of the notes from class at least once a week.  I also try and create a podcast or audio file of the class notes with similar regularity.  I am experimenting with a Livescribe pen that allows the users to create computer files by writing on special paper.  I am looking for students to volunteer to use the pen in class to take quality notes so they can be postedto the class wiki and online classroom on a daily basis.  Students who take QUALITY notes will receive an extra quiz grade for their participation and contribution of notes.  I will train any and all volunteers who would like to participate with this endeavor.  All notes will be posted within the Edmodo classroom, publicly on the Edmodo public feed, and pages located within the class wiki.

"How To" Videos

-----Many teachers in the High School have certain class procedures that they need to explain to students throughout the year.  I am looking for students who will go out and create a video tutorial on "How To" successfully follow these procedures.  The project requires students to write out the directions, act out the process, film the process, and produce the video.  I will upload the finished videos to the Internet for access.  You will receive an additional quiz grade in my class for your QUALITY efforts.  Any points for your other classes must be negotiated on your own with your other teachers.  Students need not be in front of the camera to receive points.

Creative Commons Project

-----The basis of being a good citizen is contributing to society.  I am compiling multimedia files for use by other students not only in New Brighton, but throughout the world.  Students are encouraged to take photos, create audio files of sounds, record music snippets to post on the Internet for others to use.  The main web site the information will posted on is http://nbasdcreativecommons.wikispaces.com/.  Students are free to post their files to other sites that host information for others to use.  Students who contribute to this project will be credited with creating the information they post to the site and will receive an additional quiz grade for their QUALITY contributions.
