Glendale Jr.-Sr. High School

Mr. Custer

Five General Areas will be considered when evaluating grades earned in Technology Education at Glendale Jr.-Sr. High School.

Written Assignments

Application Projects

Tests

Research/Reports

Attendance

Grades will be earned by students according to the following scale:

A-92-100

B-83-91

C-76-82

D-70-75 in danger of failing

F-below 69 Failing

Assignments missed due to absences are the responsibility of the student to make up within a reasonable time, usually by three class periods following the absence.

Credit from late work will be lowered by 25% after the first class period and 50% thereafter.  Late work will not be accepted after 5 class periods past the due date except in the case of illness or when advanced arrangements have been made.

Grades for much of the work will be subjective composite of those qualities and characteristics that would be important to an employer:

Safety Consciousness

Attention to process

Time on Task

Quality of work

Initiative

Ability to work as a team member

Student progress reports will be available on line throughout the term.  Students are expected to take this time to audit their scores for accuracy as well as their personal performance in class relative to the grade earned and work completed.

Where much of the grade is subjective in the Technology Education Classroom, students and parents are seriously invited to review their performance freely and privately with me the instructor.
