October Activities

During the month of October all grade levels of enrichment students participate in Fall/Halloween themed activities.

First each student creates a spooky/fall themed descriptive story.  The students minds run wild as they create a story using vivid detail to draw readers in.

Also students complete pumpkin math.  Each grade level is given a pumpkin to carve.  Before carving, the students use prediction skills to determine approximately how many seeds are in the pumpkin.  Next, they count the seeds by grouping them.  The students fill out a graph and use the data to determine if the amount of seeds in the pumpkin changes as the size of the pumpkin increases or decreases.

Last, we cook our pumpkin seeds and enjoy!!
