Homework

Each day your child will write their homework in their assignment book.

Your child’s homework assignments will be graded.  If your child has any missing or late homework assignments, it will affect your child’s grade.  All homework is expected to be done on time.

Please review your child’s assignment book each night and remember to sign in the comment box.  If there is a personal reason that the homework could not be completed, please send in a note and your child can make up the following day.

Homework in first grade is primarily about developing responsibility in your child.  They are responsible to bring home their assignments, complete them with a parent's guidance, and then return them to school the next day.  These skills will help to serve your child well later in his/her school career. Parent cooperation is essential to successfully bring home and school together to promote learning.

Homework Grades
Each Spelling sheet and Reading slip will be worth 5 points. Math will be based upon the number of questions.  Each day that the assignment is late your child will loose a point.

It is important that you sign it every night and they return it each day.
