Welcome Back!

         Well, here we are again beginning a new school year. I hope that everyone had a great summer! The following information will help you to familiarize yourself with some of the daily routines of our classroom. I hope these tidbits will help you and your child throughout the year. After reading this, if you have any questions concerning anything please feel free to contact me at school or via e-mail. I feel that communication is the key to a child's success. MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT WILL BE : 

                      I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!

 

CLASS SIZE: As of today, we have 22 students. It is okay with me if you would like to send a treat on your child's birthday.

 

WEDNESDAY EXPRESS

The Wednesday Express will be sent home every Wednesday with your child. This envelope will contain any tests that have been given. They will need to be signed and returned. Also, in the envelope will be any information that you will need to know about. P.T.O. sends their information via the Wednesday Express. The front of the envelope will have a place for your signature. Please return the envelope with your child on Thursday.

• The TEAM Binder will be brought home every night. Please note that there are two labeled pockets.The one pocket will be labeled "Bring RIGHT back to school" which will contain items that need to be returned the next day; such as homework, unfinished papers, and papers that need to be corrected. The other pocket will be labeled " LEFT at Home and HOMEWORK" and will contain any notes and any other important information that did not go home in the Wednesday Express.
• At the beginning of each week, there will be a Homework Calendar sent home. This will be kept in the at the front of the binder in a sheet protector. Daily assignments will be noted as well as any other information about that week. Please initial in the designated area.

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL:Please return the absence slip within three days of your child being absent from school. Also, if your child must stay indoors for any reason, please notify me in writing. Vacation requests must also be submitted two weeks prior to leaving.

• DAY 1: MUSIC
• DAY 2: ART
• DAY 3: ART
• DAY 4: P.E.
• DAY 5: LIBRARY

 Please try to remember that if there is a holiday or snow day the schedule will change.

• Children must have their sneakers on gym days or they will not be allowed to participate. Also, for art, an art smock or old t-shirt would be great to send in so that they will not ruin their clothing.
• 
  The school day begins at 8:30 A.M. Dismissal is at 3:00 P.M. Lunch for your first grader is 10:55-11:25 P.M.
• If at any time it is necessary for you to pick up your child at school, please report to the office. The secretary will inform me of your arrival. You will need to sign in at the office any time your child leaves early or arrives late.
• If for any reason your child is not to go on the bus, please send a note. Also, state who is authorized to take your child home.
