Overview

This course will provide instruction for approximately 40 minutes a day.   The class will study the following chapters from the textbooks:

 

  • Understanding Science
  • The Earth System
  • Earth’s Changing Surfaces
  • Foundations of Chemistry
  • Periodic Table
  • Using Energy and Heat
  • Motion, Forces, and Newton’s Laws
  • Interactions with Ecosystems
  • Biomes and Ecosystems
  • Environmental Impacts

 

Classroom Expectations:

  1. Be respectful to everyone in the
  2. Come to class on
  3. Come to class prepared with a pencil, notebook, agenda, and assignment(s).
  4. Complete assignments when given and turn in on
  5. Use the restroom at an appropriate time. Please do not interrupt a lesson unless it is an
  6. Raise your hand during class, do not shout
  7. Clean up your area at the end of
  8. Take care of all lab materials and computers used in
  9. If you are absent please make sure to make up your work in the timeframe Check the absentee bin for your work!!
  10. Check your grades on Powerschool If any grades are incorrect please see me.

 

Notebook/ Textbook: 

Students will be using a notebook daily in the classroom.  The notebook should be transported between home and school to complete any homework assignments and study for tests/ quizzes.

Grading Criteria

  1. Assignments will be graded on a point
  2. Homework will be graded. I post all assignments on the class webpage
  3. Each marking period students will be graded on:
    • Tests
    • Quizzes
    • Class Work
    • Lab Work
    • Notebook
    • Homework
