Pre-Algebra

Welcome to 7th Grade Pre-Algebra!!!

Students placed in pre-algebra are in the accelerated math group. In order for students to be recommended for algebra 1 in grade 8, they must have a test average of a B or better, along with teacher recommendation.  Students may be given an Algebra Prognosis Test to help determine the placement for 7th and 8th grade. 

I am looking forward to an exciting year and helping students reach their fullest potential.  Below is a list of the classroom content and expectations.  Smile

*One-inch 3-ring binder

*Book Cover - Brown paper bag is recommended

*Pencil(s)

*Calculator(optional) - Texas Instrument TI-30X is recommended

Classroom Expectations

*Come to class prepared everyday-textbook, notebook, 2 sharpened pencils, student agenda, calculator

*Make-up any missed work within one week of being absent

*Complete homework every night it is given

*Be REASONABLE, RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE

 *Ask for help immediately when not understanding content

 

Grading

Grades will be determined by dividing points earned by total points.

  • quizzes and tests will be given weekly.  
  • quizzes worth 10-50 points
  • tests worth  75-120 points
  • homework checks worth 2-4 points

***Projects will be given when applicable
