Sixth grade is a very interesting level of your child's education, but you may find it to be a level where more responsibility is placed upon him/her as far as academic work is concerned. In order to help with the organization of assignments, I suggest that your child use a pocket folder to hold homework assignments as well as the agenda book that the school has provided. In addition to this, your child may want to use other pocket folders for various subjects. They're great because they can hold many papers and don't take up much room in their school desks. For this reason, I advise against "Trapper Keepers" or three-ring binders. Homework assignments are given most days of the week. Your child should bring home all homework assignments that are given, even those that have been completed in school. This will help you to stay informed of what your child is doing in school.
