I have been teaching First Grade at Southern Columbia for 20 years. Although many changes have taken place in curriculum, procedures, and activities; first graders have remained the same. They are eager to learn, need to feel welcomed, enjoy hands on learning, love to feel proud and have something special to offer.  I promote a caring, respectful environment where each child feels comfortable while learning. Each child learns to accept responsibility and develops a positive self-esteem as they are encouraged to give their best and learn from mistakes along the way.

     I have three children who are 19, 21 and 24. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my children, crafting and spending time outside.
