Mrs. Ridgeley

Merry, merry, merry Christmas!

LET'S GO STEELERS!!!

Conservation Biology

This elective course is designed to introduce students to the interaction of plants and animals in various ecosystems. Basic biological concepts are reviewed as an emphasis is placed on local ecosystems and their management.  Additional discussion and emphasis will be placed on the effects of human decisions and their impact in Pennsylvania and on biological communities worldwide. Some examples of our units last year include: a presentation on Marcellus Shale drilling, soil composition, antibiotics, biomes, Monarch butterfly migration and habitat distruction, watersheds, and identification of local deciduous and conifer trees.

All students are to sign and return the last page of the class syllabus distributed at the beginning of the school year. This indicates that they have read and understand the expectations and rules of the class.

Note: Students are required to to abide by the documents in place at Central Cambria for the 2014-2015 school year, including the Academic Integrity and Internet Usage policies. These forms are distributed in homeroom and are to be signed and returned to homeroom teachers at the beginning of the school year.

CENTRAL CAMBRIA is fully committed to ARCC - an Atmosphere of Respect, Courtesy, and Courage.                                     ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
