2012-2013 School Year at a Glance

Mrs. Bauso~~6A English

Objective: Throughout the school year we will be working on writing skills as well as grammar.  By the end of the school year your child will be able to write well developed paragraphs using proper grammar and punctuation.  They will also be able to identify the Eight Parts of Speech as well as use them correctly in their writing.

 Materials:Textbook: Elements of Writing~Every child was sent home at the beginning of the year with a textbook.  These books should be returned at the end of the school year in the same condition that they went home in.

 Journal: Your child will be writing journals daily for their pre-classwork.  These journals are to be kept in the classroom unless you request to see them.  Your child must return with their journal the following day.  Please note that journals will be graded quarterly for a major test grade.

Classwork Book: This book will be used for class notes and classwoork assignments.  This can be used to review and study from even if no written homework is given.

 All students should come prepared for class daily with paper, pencils , and pens.

Homework- There is always something your child can be reviewing if there is no written homework given!!!
