Towamensing Instrumental Music

In the Palmerton Area School District our instrumental music program has undergone quite a few changes over the past few years! This year we are once again pleased to be offering Instrumental Music lessons to students in grades 4, 5 and 6. The instrumental program works as a pull-out program in which students are pulled from their regularly scheduled classes once per 6 day cycle for an instrumental lesson, and meet during flex time twice per cycle for a full band rehearsal. Students who choose to study an instrument are responsible for making up all missed work during that time.

Instrumental students also perform in three concerts each year, one in winter and two in spring. Our Spring Concert includes the full Palmerton Cadet Band with students from both Towamensing and S.S. Palmer in a large ensemble. Student's spend lesson time developing skills needed to play their instrument, and then apply them when working as an ensemble during full band rehearsals.

Did you know that when you receive your child's PSSA scores one of the suggestions to help improve their scores is getting them involved in instrumental music? All the more reason to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity offered by Palmerton Area School District!
