How to search using the above link ...

With "Quick Search," you can search for book titles based on authors, topics, or titles of books. Just type what you want to search for in the blank field and click "Go." You will then be able to sort your search results, select book titles to add to your AR BookBag, print a list of your search results, or start a new search.

 

With "Advanced Search," you can search by title, author, ISBN, interest level, and topic.  This search is great if you are looking for books that are specific (award winners, recommended reading, adventure, history, sports, classics, etc.).

 

With "Collections," you can search by books that have won awards, are on state lists, librarian picks, or what kids are reading.

 


Once you have found the book you are looking for, notice the number beside BL (book level).  At the beginning of the school year you will take the Star Reading test.  This determines what book level you are currently reading.  You will then look for books that are in your BL.  Also note the AR points directly beside the BL.

 

Each nine weeks students must earn all of their AR points (English10 Honors: 15 points, English 10: 10 points).  Plan to earn your AR points prior to the end of the nine weeks.  Find books that are in your interest area and appropriate book level to help ensure an enjoyable reading experience.  If our school library does not have the book you are looking for, the Glendale Area Library in Coalport may.  Contact them at 672-4378 or visit at 961 Forest Street.  If at any time you have questions, please do not hesisitate to ask me!


*Note* "Abridged" means shortened and "unabridged" means it is the full book, nothing has been taken out.  I remember this by thinking that you use a bridge to shorten your trip.  Also, any book that has "(Saddleback)" beside it means that it is a graphic novel.  This means the content is the same (it may be abridged), but it is in comic book-like format.
