Miss Gdaniec’s

Class Expectations

  • Be respectful!

  • Be on time for class!

» A demerit will be issued if a student is tardy to class without a late pass.

» Once in class, get out class materials and place your bag on the back shelf.

» Class starts immediately when the bell rings, be in your seat and ready to go.

» If there is a “bell ringer” for the day, you should begin working on it as soon as you get to class.

  • Be prepared for class!

» You should ALWAYS have your supplies for class (textbook, binder, loose-leaf, pens, calculator, iPad, etc.) unless otherwise informed.

  • Be in uniform!

» Uniform is to conform with the uniform/dress code in the student handbook.

  • Complete all of your homework!

» Homework is meant to reinforce topics covered in class.  Practice makes perfect!

» Homework will not be accepted at the end of the day that it was due in class.

» Homework not turned in when collected and/or reviewed in class is a “0”.

  • Stay awake!

» There is no excuse for sleeping during class time.  The classroom is not a place to be sleeping.

» Sleeping in class is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

» I will give one warning.  Second offense is a demerit.  Repeated offenses will result in detention.

  • Keep your cell phone in your bag.

» One warning will be given.  Second offense will result in confiscation of the phone until the end of the day and a Tier 2 (Saturday) detention.  It’s school policy!

  • Silence during test taking!

» Silence is required (and needed) by you and your classmates until the last paper is submitted.

» Talking during an exam may result in forfeiture of your grade.

» After you complete an exam, you may work on something else (no iPads) until everyone has finished.

  • Restroom use…

» Permission to leave the room for restroom, locker, phone, or other personal business may be granted at appropriate times.

» Do not “overuse” this privilege or else it will be limited.

» You will sign in and out on the sheet by the door.  The classroom pass is to be worn around your neck.

» After 2:30PM, in accordance with the MPS handbook, no one may be excused.

  • No Food or Drink outside of the cafeteria!

» It’s school policy.  It attracts bugs and we don’t need that!

» You are permitted to have WATER in the classroom.

» It gets very warm in 212; it would be a good idea to bring water to class!

  • NO GUM!

  • Early Dismissals/Athletes/Thespians

» No special accommodations will be made.  You are still responsible for the work that you miss.

» Any work that is due on the day of your early dismissal is to be turned in before you leave school or else it will be considered late.

  • Integrity!

» Cheating is defined as representing another’s work as your own and enabling others to use your work as their own.

» Enabling or helping others to cheat is also cheating.

» Be sure to follow the MLA format and include a works cited page when writing lab reports that require research.

  • Grades are not to be discussed among your peers while in the classroom.  It is a violation of the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Have fun!
