Week of 5/14

Monday-Wednesday: Students will watch the film Forrest Gump.

Thursday: Students will take their final exam.

Friday: FUN DAY--NO CLASS.

Monday: Student presentation on Nixon & Ford presedencies.

Tuesday: Student presentation on Carter & Reagan presedencies.

Wednesday: Student presentation on Bush, Clinton, and Bush presedencies.

Thursday: Student presentation on Obama & Trump presedencies.

Friday: Students will begin watching the film Forrest Gump.

Week of 4/30

Monday-Thursday: Students will continue and finish research and preparations for their presentations.

Friday: Student presentation on Vietnam War.

Week of 4/23

Monday-Friday: Students will continue research and preparations for their "Vietnam & Beyond" presentations.

Week of 4/16

Monday: Students will finish watching documentary on Charles Manson and take notes and discuss his "Family."

Tuesday: Students will complete a review puzzle.

Wednesday: Students will play a review game.

Thursday: Students will take a chapter 32 test.

Friday: Students will begin work on a research and presentation assignment on an assigned topic about the Vietnam War and beyond.

Tuesday-Thursday: Students will take notes and discuss key concepts and people from chapter 32 (Other Movements of '60s & '70s).

Monday-Wednesday: Students will watch the film Mississippi Burning.

Thursday: Students will complete a Martin Luther King, Jr. biography reading assignment.

Friday: Students will watch the film Selma.

Week of 3/12

Monday: Students will take a test on chapter 30.

Tuesday: Students will take notes and discuss chapter 31-1.

Wednesday: Students will complete a reading assignment requiring them to analyze and evaluate Martin Luther King's "Letter from a Birmingham Jail."

Thursday: Students will take notes and discuss chapter 31-2.

Friday: Students will take a weekly quiz.  They will also begin watching the film "Mississippi Burning."

Week of 3/5

Monday-Tuesday: Students will finish research and present their Google Slide presentations of a JFK assassination theory.

Wednesday: Students will take notes on chapter 30-3.  

Thursday: Students will complete review puzzle for chapter 30.

Friday: Students will take a weekly quiz and play a review game to prepare for chapter 30 test.

Week of 2/26

Monday: Students will watch a video/biography on John F. Kennedy.

Tuesday: Students will take notes and discuss chapter 30-2.

Wednesday-Friday: Students will research, create, and present Google Slide presentations on an assigned JFK death conspiracy.

Friday: Students will complete a Google Classroom persuasive essay assignment about the "War on Poverty."

Monday-Wednesday: Students will watch the film "Rebel Without a Cause" and complete writing prompts.

Thursday: Students will take notes on chapter 29-4.

Friday: Students will complete a reading assignment about the "Beat Generation" and important authors from the genre of writing.

Monday: Students will take a test on chapter 28.

Tuesday-Wednesday: Students will take notes and discuss chapters 29-1 & 29-2.

Thursday-Friday: Students will watch the film "Rebel Without a Cause" and complete a writing prompt about the film and plot.

Week of 1/29

Monday-Wednesday: Students will research and create a piece of propaganda intending to either teach or scare Americans about the dangers of the Soviet Union in the 1950s.

Thursday: Students will complete a review puzzle to prepare for their chapter 28 test.

Friday: Students will play a review game to prepare for their chapter 28 test.

Week of 1/22

Monday: Students will create user accounts and join Google Classroom.  They must complete a writing prompt about the North Korean nuclear threat.

Tuesday: Students will take notes and discuss chapter 28-3.

Wednesday: Students will take notes and discuss chapter 28-4.

Thursday: Students will complete a reading assignment about the "House Committee on Un-American Activities" during the Red Scare.

Friday: Students will complete a review puzzle to prepare for their chapter test.  They will also complete a weekly quiz.

Week of 1/15

Monday: No School

Tuesday: Students will create user accounts for Google classroom and www.quizlet.com.  They will also have a current event assignment they will need to complete in Google classroom.

Wednesday: Students will complete remaining notes on chapter 28-1 and begin watching a documentary on the history of the conflict in Jerusalem.

Thursday: Students will finish watching the documentary on Jersusalem.

Friday: Students will take a weekly quiz on the week's material.  They will also take notes on chapter 28-2.

Week of 1/8

Thursday: First day of class.  Students will complete a lyrical analysis of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire."

Friday: Students will take notes and discuss chapter 28-1 about the beginnings of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union.  Also, students will take a quiz on the material they learned this week.  Students will take a quiz each Friday.
