Monster Toy Collaboration (Yearly project since 2013)

Third grade students in Mrs. Stone’s class were asked to create their own drawings of an imagined monster and give them an original name. These two-dimensional drawings were then brought to life in three-dimensional form by Mrs. Baker’s 3-D I & 3-D II classes. The Digital Design class, taught by Mrs. Shively, put the finishing touches to the project by creating the package design for each of the monsters.The two high school classes then presented the monster toys to the excited third graders!

 

SCHOLASTIC ARTS COMPETITION (Yearly Spring Event)

 

The Scholastic Arts Competition represents 19 high schools in the Central Pennsylvania region. The competition is broken down into 9 seperate categories such as Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, and Photography. The exhibit features over 135 student works of art that are judged in this competition.

A total of 9 pieces are alotted for entry from Southern Columbia High School.

 Artwork is on display at the Packwood House Museum Lewisburg, PA.

EMPTY BOWLS

The SCA Senior Class (2013) hosted a volunteer fundraiser for a local food bank, Manna for the Many. Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger and was created by The Imagine Render Group. Guests were invited to a simple meal of soup and bread, and a five dollar donation for the pottery bowls. The handcrafted bowls were created and donated by the SCA Art students in grades 6-12.

 

 

 

DOODLE 4 GOOGLE 2012

This Doodle 4 Google was
chosen as one of the 250 State Finalists. Amanda's Doodle ranks the best
amongst more than 114,000 entries across the country. Her Doodle was displayed in a special exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
