About the Teacher

My name is Mrs. Jennifer Kobaly and I am the chorus teacher at Hopewell High School and the general music teacher at Hopewell Elementary School (grade K-3; fourth grade chorus and recorder ensemble). I have been teaching in Hopewell for ten years, and have been at the high school for eight. I also taught for one year in Garrett County, MD. I received my undergraduate degree in music education in 2005 from West Virginia University. I earned my Master's in 2008, also in music education. My primary instrument is the horn. I have completed two levels of Orff-Schulwerk training, which is a philosophy on teaching & learning music that emphasizes learning music through movement, improvisation, and creativity and have attended Dalcroze Eurhythmics clinics at Carnegie Mellon University. I believe that students learn by doing. We do not just "sit and sing" in any of my classes.

I have three daughters, Gigi, Giulia, & Gemma. I enjoy many hobbies such as running, crafting, & playing my horn, but my favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and kids.

I am excited to teach your child this year!
