Who is Bob Alexander?  

Bob Alexander is an Educational Consultant with PaTTAN, Harrisburg. Prior to his work at PaTTAN, he served as a secondary grades ELA Consultant with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) in Raleigh, NC.  A native and current resident of Schuylkill Co., Pa., Bob attended college in Greenville, NC at East Carolina University on a football scholarship, where he established himself as an award-winning scholar-athlete, excelling both in the classroom and on the athletic field. Bob received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from East Carolina University (B.S. in English, 1987 and MAEd., 1995). During a 20-year career in the classroom, Bob served as an English teacher and coach at J. H. Rose High School in Greenville, NC, where he taught all grades and all levels of English and English electives. Bob was also English department chair and member of the school's leadership team for a number of years. In addition, he completed National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult English Language Arts in November, 2000. A journeyman educator and student, Bob Alexander has been a part-time instructor at Pitt, Beaufort, and Edgecombe Community Colleges in North Carolina, and he worked as an adjunct at East Carolina University. Bob is also a proud member of the National Paideia Faculty representing the National Paideia Center in Chapel Hill, NC. A life-long learner, teacher, and coach, Bob describes himself as "…a humble servant of the people of Pennsylvania.”   His PATTAN contact information is:
