All Subjects
Fourth grade is a step up from third grade. Your child will be graded in Science and Social Studies, as well as Reading, Language Arts, Spelling, and Math. All books may be taken home but need to be returned every morning. In addition, PSSA tests will be given in the spring! We take these very seriously and will be preparing during the school year! We scored exceptionally well last year! So we are sure this year students’ will rise to the challenge as well!
One major objective to be achieved this year revolves around the concept on accepting responsibility. For this reason, homework will be given regularly, jobs will be assigned, and your child will be held accountable for his/her actions.
Homework:
A green folder will be sent home with your child every night (whether he or she has homework or not). Other folders will be given for various subjects.  Reading- red folder, Language - yellow folder, Math- dark blue folder, Reading Log- light blue folder.  Some assignments may be completed at home. All assignments given during the school day should be taken home whether they are completed or not. I will check homework each day. All assignments, projects, and testing dates will be listed on the homework board. Your child will be given time to copy the homework assignments in their agenda book. (This book will be given to each child at school; you do not need to buy an assignment book). I will make every effort to check and initial the agenda book daily. I would greatly apprecialte if you would initial the agenda book each evening. This will signal you to when and what type of assignments are completed and if there is any studying that needs to be done. Please feel free to use the agenda book as a way to write a brief note to me or to your child. I will also use it to communicate with you and your child as well. Because Students will be working so diligently all week, homework will seldom be assigned over the weekend.

If at any time you feel the need to speak with me, please do not hesitate to call, write a note, or email me
