Classroom Philosophy
  • Math is the single most IMPORTANT skill you will use throughout life.
  • The more students put into their studies, the more they will achieve. Students should be working on math every single night, whether that comes in the form of homework, reviewing notes, playing review games, etc.
  • I expect 110% from each of my students every day. Students will work hard in my classroom every day, and as a result they will become strong algebraic thinkers and learners.

Extra Help
  • It is normal for students to need help with math. I encourage students to ASK QUESTIONS!
  • I am available every other day during enrichment for extra help and reinforcement. Please ask me for a pass!
  • Come prepared with your book, notes, etc.-- whatever you need help with!

 Evaluation Techniques:

  • Chapter Tests- always announced 1 week ahead of time
  • Quizzes- always announced
  • Class Work/Participation- expected
  • Homework Assignments- given randomly
  • Preparation Points- worth 20 points per marking period, deducted in 2 point increments

Homework

  • Homework is assigned almost nightly, however, it is checked randomly. Students will receive points for completion, NOT correctness.
  • Homework is assigned to reinforce the day's lesson-- it is important to always complete the evening's homework. YOU WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS CLASS IF YOU DO NOT PRACTICE.

Preparation Expectations:

  • 3-ring binder notebook (NO FOLDERS PLEASE)
  • Agenda
  • Pen or pencil (pens must be black ink)
