Mrs. Piskuric - Learning/Emotional Support

About Mrs. Piskuric

I grew up and graduated from Conemaugh Township not so many years ago.  My college experience started off at a community college in Maryland then transferring to University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education.

After working with children as St. Clements School and Head Start in both Cambria and Somerset Counties, I discovered that many children came to school with diversified learning needs. These  needs were in some cases special needs and I felt a need to help these students more than I currently was able to do. This is when I went to St. Francis and received my second certification in Special Education.

I am completing my third certification: English as a Second Language or English Language Learners ( ESL or ELL) in September 2014.  I attained my Masters Equivalence  before my son, graduated from High School and completed ESL Certification before he graduated from college.

In the past I have taught Pre-K and Pre-School at St. Clement’s Catholic School, began substitute teaching in all school districts, and taught at both the Somerset and Cambria County Head Start Programs. After receiving my Special Education Certification, I worked as an Itinerant Autistic Support Teacher within Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 in Somerset County.
