Here is a little bit about me:

My name is Mrs. Carie Michael.  I was born and raised on Long Island which is in New York.  I have two sisters and a brother.  One of my sisters is married and I have a niece and 2 nephews.  I am married too!  Mr. Michael and I live in the City of Lancaster.  We used to go to high school together and Mr. Michael was in the U.S. Navy for 9 years, so we have lived in different places. Mr. Michael and I like to watch a lot of sports.  My favorite teams are the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and I like to watch NASCAR.  (That's why our classroom is all decorated in racecars and checkered flags!!)  My favorite animal is a penguin and we are going to learn lots about them in the winter.  My favorite color is pink and my favorite food is DUNKIN DONUTS Coffee!!  I can't wait to learn some things about you! 

 

What I did this summer:  

Mr. Michael and I spent a lot of time with family and friends.  All summer long, I went to lots of Lancaster Barnstormers baseball games.  I love watching baseball and I love that the team is so close to my house!  At the end of July, I went to Long Island and babysat my niece and nephews for a week.  We had lots of adventures!  In August, I went to Upstate New York to a farm.  I got to see cows and sheep there.  I even had my first ride on a quad!  It was so relaxing to be up in the mountains with no cell phone service!  I also got the chance to attend a conference with other teachers about Math.  It was also my first time to be a presenter and teach new things to other teachers.  It was so scary!  I have so many new ideas to try out with you in our classroom this year!  What did you do this summer?  I can't wait to hear about all of your adventures!

Favorite drink:  Dunkin Donuts Coffee with skim milk and sugar

Favorite US states:  New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Montana

Favorite sports teams: New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox

Favorite local sports team:  Lancaster Barnstormers (you can usually find me in Section 18!) 

Favorite NASCAR drivers:  Danica Patrick and Elliott Sadler and my friend Anthony Pizzo who is a racecar driver!

Favorite movies:  The Sound of Music, Monty Python, Elf

Favorite TV shows:  Will & Grace (my all-time fav, I have every season on DVD!!), The Bachelor, The Big Bang Theory

Favorite children's books: A Chair for my Mother, Harry Potter series, Frog and Toad series

Favorite ice cream flavor: Mint Chocolate Chip

Things I do in my spare time:  Sing with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, jigsaw puzzles, watch TV, Facebook, Pinterest
