GRADING:

Grading for each marking period is based on a system using total points.  This system allows for all assignments (i.e. tests, quizzes, homework, projects) to be weighted equally in determining the students overall average per marking period.  Points per assignment will be determined by the instructor. Late assignments without a excused absence will not be accepted. As an example of how this grading system works see the following example:

            Marking Period 1:

Homework Total Possible Points = 500

                        Test/Quizzes Total Possible Points =300

Projects Total Possible Points = 200

Marking Period 1 Total Possible Points = 1000

            Student Points Earned = 800/1000

Student Average for Marking Period 1 = 80%

MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENTS/TESTS and QUIZZES:

Any work missed by the student due to excused absences must be completed within five days of returning to class.  It is the responsibility of the student to obtain and complete this work within the five day period or a zero will be received for the assignment/test or quiz.  Late assignments will not be accepted.
