FAQ

Below are some of the Frequently Asked Questions from both students and parents:

What if I forgot to write down my homework in my agenda?

No problem!  Simply go to my homepage and click on the Homework link.  This page is always updated with the latest homework and upcoming assessments.

What can I do if I need help at home?

You should always refer to your ELA Toolbox, notes in folder, and StoryTown textbook for assistance.

How do I know what to study when there is a test?

A Study Guide is provided for EVERY Language Arts test and should be taped into your agenda.  The Study Guide is an outline of the exact skills that will be on the quiz or test.  Use the Study Guide to focus your studying and preparation and remember to use the textbook and LA Toolbox with your Study Guide.  Study Guides will always be given at least 2 days prior to the quiz or test.  They are also reviewed the day before the quiz or test is given.

What if I can't find my vocabulary list for a specific reading selection?

No problem!  The vocabulary list should be glued into your LA Toolbox. The vocabulary words can also be found within the textbook for that specific reading selection.

What can I do to help my child at home?

You can use the StoryTown textbook to assist your child.  The textbook can be used to further explain or clarify skills.

You can check out the various sites that I have listed on my home page.  These sites can provide additional practice in one area or a number of areas.

You can have your child review notes in their folder or LA Toolbox.  Reviewing these pages will provide extra practice and reinforce of concepts/skills that were covered throughout the reading selection.

How will I know my child's grade in language arts?

You can log into your Sapphire account and see your child's grades at any time.  If you didn't register for your account, the directions are on the SCA website under Parent Resources.

You can look for your child's quizzes and tests after they are given.  In addition, progress reports will be sent home half way throughout each marking period.
