Here is what is happening for the week of Jan. 14-18, 2019

 

 WRITERS' WORKSHOP AND GRAMMAR

Monday:  Periods:  Continue writing lesson "School Uniforms--What is your opinion?" Use graphic organizer from packet  "I Moustashe Your Opinion" packet pp. 3-4 & begin writing rough drafts; work Lesson #7 spelling contracts 

Tuesday:  ALL CLASSES: complete rough drafts & final copies of "School Uniforms--What is your opinion?";  Intro using commas in sentences--

Wednesday:    ALL CLASSES: 20 minute opinion writing prompt  with sharing time;  spelling complete contract & review game 

Thursday:   All Classes: Spelling--Lesson 11 spelling test and contract due today;  

 

Friday: New Spelling List & contract--Lesson #12;  RACER WRITING--based on an Martin Luther King article;  students will respond/write an answer to a question from story packet using the RACER format

 WEDNESDAY:  Bill Nye Science Guy "Outer Space" Video  and questionnaire

THURSDAY:  Students will use a model to compare size and distance of the Earth, Sun and Moon from each other "How Big and Far Away Are Objects in Space?"  pp. 3-4 of "5th Grade Space Bundle" TEACHERSPAYTEACHERS.COM
