Is your child sick?

Helpful Recommendations for When to Keep Your Child Home from School:

A sick child is unable to concentrate in class and effective learning is often impaired during illness. As a parent/guardian, you know your child the best. If you feel your child is sick, please keep them home and seek the advice of your health care provider. Doing so helps prevent the spread of germs to fellow students and faculty/staff and puts your child on the road to a quicker recovery.

  • Students should be kept home when they have fever above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Please keep your child home until he/she is fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
  • Vomiting/Diarrhea
  • Unexplained rash or sores
  • Red eyes accompanied by drainage
  • Untreated case of head lice (please note that the child must be examined by the school nurse before returning to class).
