This is Mr. Smith's 3rd year at Mifflin County High School, but his 14th year of teaching overall. This year, Mr. Smith is teaching AP Statistics, Algebra 1B, and Career Math.  He has also taught Applied Geometry, Algebra 2, and Advanced Algebra 2 Honors while at MCHS.  Mr. Smith has been married to his wife, Amanda, for the past 9 years and has a 4-year-old daughter Isabelle.  This was Mr. Smith's 1st year as the Varsity Assistant and JV Head Coach for the Husky Girls' Volleyball Team.  Mr. Smith is also one of Mifflin County SD's STEM Representatives working with Penn State's Center for Science in the Schools, IU#10 and IU#17 to help incorporate more STEM into the school district's curriculum.

 

Mr. Smith first taught 6th grade Math for 3 years at Bedford Middle School in Bedford, PA.  Then, he moved to northern Virginia for 8 years where he taught a variety of math courses at Potomac Falls High School in Sterling, VA, including Algebra 1 Part 1, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Advanced (college) Algebra with Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Probability & Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, and AP Statistics.  He was the Varsity Girls Volleyball Assistant Coach for the 8 years he was there, as well as a sponsor for Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society) and the Persian Club.   A fun fact about Mr. Smith is that he first appeared on an episode of "Wheel of Fortune" in September 2014.  Mr. Smith graduated from Williamsport Area High School in Williamsport, PA.
