4/15: Today the class played a Jeopardy game which reviewed all concepts covered since the Midyear exam that will be covered on the final exam.

4/14: Today students participated in an activity in which they were to write the equation of a line based off a graph do a scavenger hunt pertaining to such.

4/13: Today I checked that students had their notes from 3/21 for points. We then took notes on and did examples of writing the equations of a line based upon a graph. 4/5: Today we reviewed simplifying single radicals as well as adding and subtracting them. Students did examples on boards. Students were then given an in class assignment that was due at the end of class. Please see me if you were not here.

4/4: Today we took notes on and did examples of how to add and subtract radical expressions. Students were given this handout to aid their note taking adding and subtracting radicals notes handout.pdf. We discussed the fact that there will be a test on radicals on Friday. Although todayw e covered the last of the material that will appear on the test, I think it will be a good idea to review the reminder of the week, one concept at a time, especially due to the fact that we just got back from a long break! 3/24: Today we did a Jeopardy review of concepts we have been learning about involving radicals.

3/23: Today we went over the homework. Students then completed this in class assignment. Classes were shortened due to the Liturgy, so students were permitted to finish the assignment for homework if they did not complete it during class today. 3/15: Today we went over homework, students did problems on the board. We then took notes on and did examples of simplifying rational expressions with a coefficient. Students then practiced problems on the dry erase boards. 3/14: Today we began a new chapter on radicals! We took notes on and did examples of how to simplify radican expressions that may or may not be perfect squares. 3/9: Today we played a Jeopardy game to review for the test tomorrow. I gave students this test review, which very much mimics the test. rational expressions test REVIEW.pdf. If students complete it in its ENTIRETY, and bring it with them to class tomorrow, they will recieve bonus points on the test. It must be completed and turned in at the beginning of class. 3/8: Today was the first revew day to prepare and practice for the test on Thursday. We reviewed and did examples of how to find the excluded value of a rational expression, and we also simplified rational expressions. Students used dry erase boards to practice. 3/4: Today students completed classwork on adding and subtracting rational expressions, covering all of the types of problems practiced this week. It was due at the end of class. 2/16: Today we briefly reviewed how to factor perfect square binomials. We then did examples and took notes on what a rational expression is and how to find an excluded value of a rational expression. Students completed classwork found in their textbooks on page 797-798 #3-6, 8-10, 13-23. All students turned this in by the end of class and it was graded. 2/12: Today homework was collected. Instead of being graded, random problems will be selected and will be graded as bonus points. We then went over applications of consecutive integers. We took notes, did examples, and students completed examples on the dry erase boards. Students then completed a 8 problem quiz on the information. There was no homework.

2/11: Today we went over homework- students did the problems on the board. We then learned about applications of area. Here are the notes as well as the hclasswork that turned into homework. 2/10: Today I collected the dividing polynomials classwork from yesterday. We then briefly reviewed dividing polynomials before taking the quiz. 2/8: Today we took notes on and did examples of dividing polynomails. Students used the dry erase boards to practice as well. I gave this worksheet for homework, encouraging students to come see me to check their work and/or answers or help them complete the worksheet in general. 2/4: Today students completed the Chapter 9 test. The grades have been posted.

2/3: Today I did a spot check to ensure that everyone completed their chapter 9 test reviews. This was worth 5 points. Then, students came up to the board to complete the problems from the review and we went over them. We then did some extra practice problems upon request. I mentioned again that there was an optional after school review session today for your benifit. I created this studying template Chapter 9 Topic Breakdown.pdf which I handed out and also asked if anyone would like a blank test review from which to study. The link for this PDF is found below under information from yesterday. The test is tomorrow!

2/2: Today I collected the homework worksheet which was assigned yesterday. We then went over the homework. We took ntos on and did examples from section 9.8. Students were then given a study guide for their test which is on Thursday. The study guide will be checked and reviewed tomorrow. Students were asked to come to class prepared to review tomorrow, with any questions they might have for the test. Here is the review ch 9 test review.pdf

2/1: Today we reviewed a few problems from 9.6. We then did examples and took notes on 9.7. Students practiced problems using the dry erase boards. I then assigned this page for homework. 9.7 hw.pdf

1/29: Homework was checked and then we went over it as a class. I introduced another way to solve polynomials with an a value larger than 1 (what we have been working on for the past 2 days). We did some practice in class to finish up section 9.6.

1/28: We completed section 9.6. Students went up to the board and used personal dry erase boards to complete examples. This homework worksheet was given. 9.6 hw.pdf It is due on Friday 1/29.

1/27: We went over the homework and quiz from section 9.5. We then began to take notes and complete examples on section 9.6.

1/26: Today I collected the homework worksheet given to you yesterday. We then reviewed problems from 9.5. After this, students completed classwork on page 586 #3-13, 20-26. This was due during classtime. During the last 20 minutes, students completed a short 4 question quiz. There was no homework assigned today.

1/25: I passed back your quizzes you took Friday on 9.4. We then took notes on 9.5 and did many practice problems. 9.5 is all about how to factor a polynomial in the form x^2 + bx + c. We factored polynomials in this form and also took some a step farther and solved them for x values. I gave a homework worksheet on this section which had 3 problems, 2 asked you to factor and 1 asked you to solve. 

10/13 - 11/3:  We are solving linear equations this unit.  We will solve 1 step, muti-step, variables on both sides of the equation, and equations involving non-integers.  We should complete this unit the beginning of November.

9/28 - 10/9:  We are working on an introduction to algebra this unit.  We will complete the order of operations, evauluating algebraic expressions, simplifying algebraic expressions, and some of the properties before your next test.

9/21 - 9/25:  We continued with set theory this week as well as working with adding and subtracting integers. Thursday we will wrap things up and have a test on Friday 9/25. 

9/14 - 9/17:  We started set theory this week after going through the operations with decimals and fractions before this.  We started with the sets of numbers.  Tuesday we discussed the union and intersection of sets.  Wednesday we began to look at Venn diagrams as a way to organize information.  We were cut short because of pictures so we will continue with the Venn diagram word problems Thursday.
