About Me

 

My name is Michael Venna, and I am lifelong resident of Mount Carmel and a graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School.  I am very active within my community and currently serve on the Mount Carmel Borough Council.  I also served as the President of the Mount Carmel Borough Zoning Board and as a Director on the Mount Carmel Area School Board. 

Additionally, I am an active Member of American Mensa, and I own a real estate business focused on commercial and residential acquisitions and rentals.

I am currently in my 23rd year of teaching at the Southern Columbia Area School District and teach fifth grade mathematics in the SCA Middle School.  Prior to teaching fifth grade, I taught third grade for ten years and second grade for one year at G.C. Hartman Elementary Center.  Throughout my tenure at SCA, I have served in many roles and capacities, including Team Leader, Technology Lead Teacher, Summer School Lead Teacher, After School Tutoring Lead Facilitator, New Teacher Mentor and Cooperating Teacher.  Additionally, I am also the Past President of the Southern Columbia Education Association (SCEA).
