JANUARY

 

PIAA District 5 Athletic Directors Assocation Scholarship Program.  (January 31)

Applicants must be a senior with at least 3.0 GPA and earned at least one varsity letter.  They will need to verify post-secondary entrance exam test scores (SAT, ACT).

Penn Highlands Board Academic Scholarship.  (January 31)

Visit the website: www.pennhighlands.edu/admissions/scholarships or see guidance for more information.  This scholarship offers a full tuition award for seniors planning to attend Penn Highlands in the Fall.  Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA and be involved in 3 extra-curricular activities.  Applicants must also complete and submit a Board of Trustees Academic Scholarship Application and FAFSA form.  A 200 word essay is required.  The essay must focus on why the committee should nominate him/her for the scholarship.  Applicants will also need to either complete the College placement testing or have scored at least 500 in both verbal and math.  Please contact the Admissions Office at 814-262-6446 if you have any questions regarding our scholarships.

Conemaugh Township Rotary

We will be accepting applications for the CT Rotary Scholarships from high school seniors living in the CT and Windber School Districts. FEBRUARY

 

Blackwood Music Scholarship (February 1)

Visit the website: www.blackwoodmusic.org.  Applications available in the guidance office.  This scholarship includes 25,000 music award for seniors intending to pursue a career in instrumental music performance.  Applications are available online or in the guidance office.  

The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania Application (February 15)

Visit the website:  www.pagardenclubs.org. These scholarships have a combined worth of over $5000 for a high school senior pursuing a degree in Agriculture or related field.

PSECU 2017 Scholarship Program (February 28)

(6) $8000 scholarship awards for seniors planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university.  Applicants must be a member or join the PSECU as of December 31, 2016. More information and Applications are available at www.psecu.com/scholarships or call 800-237-7328.  

 

MARCH

 

Hermine Solt Student Scholarship (March 1)

Visit the website:  http://www.paeop.com/page/71 and applications available in the guidance office.  $500 scholarship for seniors who show scholastic achievement and motivation for higher education, qualities and traits of leadership, citizenship, and service to school and community, and financial need.  Applicants must be interested in pursuing a career in secretarial, office technology, accounting, and/or business education.  Applicants must submit the application, a letter of recommendation from a business teacher or guidance counselor, and high school transcript. 

National Garden Club (March 1)

Visit the website: www.nationalgardenclubs.org.  These scholarships have a combined worth of over $5000 for a high school senior pursuing a degree in Agriculture or related field.

PA School Public Relations Association Scholarship (March 15)

Applications available in the guidance office.  There are of three $1000 scholarships to be awarded to public high school students who plan to pursue a career in the communications field.  The candidate must have a least a 3.0 GPA, and have been accepted to or applied to a post secondary institution of higher learning.

Words to be Heard Scholarship (March 24)

$10,000 for 1st place, $5000 for 2nd place, and $2500 for 3rd place.  This contest is open to any senior planning to attend a 4-year school in the fall of 2015.  Applicants must complete an application and submit a presentation that discourages underage drinking and drunk driving or texting while driving.  Applications and more information is available at www.EdgarSnyder.com/scholarship.  Applicants must submit all application materials (including application, recent photo and presentation) by March 24, 2017
