Apprentice Programs

JWFI Machining Aprrentice Program-JWFI apprentice program offers progression from Entry-Level to Journeyman.  Employees will train through on-the-job training as well as self-study on their own time using an online program.  Apprentices will operate CNC machines, horizontal boring mills and lathes.  This is a 4-year Program. Applications and more information is available at www.jwfi.com or email abeaver@jwfi.com.  You can speak with Ashley at 814-539-6922 ext 253.

International Union Elevator Constructors Local 6 Joint Apprenticeship Committee-Applications are being accepted at Jacobs Building 100 Fleet Street Greentree, PA  15220.  Applications are being accepted November 3rd-7th from 10am - Noon. November 8th from 9am - 11am. November 10th from 10am - Noon.  November 12th from 10am -Noon and 5pm - 7pm.  November 13th from 10am -Noon.  You must be 18 years of age and have a government issued ID, copy of birth certificate, and copy of High School Diploma or GED.

Finishing Trades Institute of Western PA District Council #57-Applications will be accepted for apprenticeship in the Painters/Glaziers/Drywall Finishers program year round; however,  applications can be submitted at the District Council #57 Office:  101 Ewing Road, Carnegie, PA  15106 on September 22, 2015 and September 24, 2015 from 8:30am to 2:30pm.  Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D., a valid driver's license and dependable transportation, and a certified check or money order for $20.00.  More information is available in the Guidance Office or call (412) 276-6061.

Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee-The Carpenters Training Center is accepting applications for the Commercial Carpenters' Training Program every Wednesday (8:00am-3:30pm) year round with classes starting in February, June, and October.  Floor Coverer, Heavy Highway, Mill Cabinet, Millwright, and Pile Driver Training Program applications are being accepted every Wednesday (8:00am-3:30pm) November through March with classes starting in June.  Applicants must be a high school graduate or GED and must be available for full-time employment if accepted.  A non-refundable processing fee of $25 (payable by check, cash, money order, debit ore credit card) at the time of application.  Applicants must also have a valid driver's license at the time of application.  More information is available in the Guidance Office or visitwww.greaterpacarpenters.org.

Steamfitters Technology Center Local Union 449-Applications are being accepted for the 5 year Building Trades and Mechanical Equipment Service Apprenticeship Programs.    Applicants must appear in person at The Steamfitters Technology Center, 1459 Woodruff Street, Pittsburgh, PA  15220 or The Steamfitters Northwest Technology Center 8150 Hawthorne Road, Erie PA  16509.  Applications will be taken on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 through Saturday, September 19, 2015 and Monday September 21, 2015 through Saturday, September 26, 2015. Weekday hours will be between the hours of 10:00am to 5:00pm.  Saturday 9:00am to 12:00pm.  Applicants must be a high school graduate or GED and have a valid Driver's license.  The application fee is $50 payable by Cash or money order.  More information is available in the Guidance Office or go to www.ua449.com.

Construction Occupation Laborers' Joint Apprenticeship & Training Program-Applications are being accepted for apprenticeship in Building and Heavy/Highway Program.  Applicants must be 18 years of age, take a drug test, submit a non-refundable $25 money order or check, be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. and have a PA driver's license.  Applications may be picked up in person at Western Pennsylvania CareerLink Offices, all laborers' local union offices, and the Western Pennsylvania Laborers' Education and Training Center in Saxonburg, PA or download from the Website: www.laborpa.org.  Informational packets can be requested by calling 1-800-442-8868.

Plumbers Local Union No. 27 Joint Apprenticeship Training-Applications may be obtained between March 9th-March 21st, 2015 at Plumbers Local Union No. 27 Headquarters/Pipe Trade Training Center, 1040 Montour W. Industrial Park, Coraopolis, PA 15108 and at the Erie Training Center, 8150 Hawthorne Drive, Erie, PA  16509.  Please report the following hours:  M-W 9am-12pm & 1pm-5:30pm, Th 9am-12pm & 1pm -8pm, F 9am - 12pm & 1pm- 3pm, Sat. 8am -12pm.  Applicants must be of good moral character and physically able to perform work duties.  The applicant must also be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or G.E.D.  The applicant must also have a valid PA Drivers License. There is a $30 application fee and if accepted a substance abuse test is required. More information is available at 724-695-9047.

Electrical Local Union #5 Joint Apprenticeship Committee-Applications are available at the Electrical Training Center- 5 Hot Metal Street Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA  15203-2356.  Applications are available from 9am to 1pm on March 17-21 and March 24-28.  All applications must be picked up in person by the applicant and completed at that time.  Applicants must be 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or G.E.D.  Applicants must have also completed an Algebra course.  Applicants will need to have a non-refundable check or money order for $25.  Applicants must also have a valid PA Driver's License and a copy of your high school transcript. 

Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Local #37 Joint Apprenticeship Committee-Applications are taken at the JAC Training Center 230 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue, PA  15202 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 10:30am.  Applications should be filed before March 20, 2015 to assure consideration for the June 2015 Apprentice class.  Applicants must have high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate, have a valid PA Drivers License and reliable transportation,  & must be physically able to perform the manual work of the trade.  Applicants will have to take a General Aptitude Test, have an oral interview, and pass a physical examination and drug test.  A non-refundable processing fee of $15.00 will be required at the time of application (Money Order only).

Cement Masons Pre-apprentice Program-Applications may be obtained on the following dates April 6th-10th and April 13th-17th from 8:30am to 11am at A.J. Furlan Building 2606 California Avenue, North Side, Pittsburgh, PA  15212.  Applicants must have a valid Driver's License and vehicle owner's card, Social Security card, high school diploma or G.E.D.  Applicants must also appear in person to complete the application and be of legal working age.  Applicants may also be required to take a drug test and an aptitude test. 

Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers-Applications are available at the AWL#2 Apprentice Training Center 1057 Clinton Road Clinton, PA  15026 from 12:30pm-3:30pm on May 18th to the 23rd and May 26th to the 29th, 2015.  Applicant must pick up the application in person and have photo Identification.  A non-refundable $25.00 fee is due upon the receipt of the application.  Payment must be money order or certified check, made payable to the "Joint Apprenticeship Program AWL#2.  Applications must be post marked by June 5, 2015.  Applicant must be 18 years of age by June 30, 2015, must also have a high school diploma or GED,  & reliable transportation.  Applicants will be required to take a written exam and a drug test.

Sprinkler Industry Joint Apprentice Committee of Pittsburgh-Local Union 542 will be accepting applications at Pittsburgh Sprinkler Fitters U.A. Local Union 542, 227 Stanton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA  15209.  Applications may be obtained April 6-April 10, 2015 Monday-Friday 10am to 2pm and April 13-17 Monday-Friday 10am to 2pm.  Applicants must appear in person.  There is a non-refundable application fee of $25.00.  Applicants must also have a Pennsylvania Driver's License and a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Western PA Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Programapplications are being accepted for Heavy Equipment Operators Program and Mechanic Technician Program. Applicants must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, have a valid Driver's License, pass the Physical Exam and Drug Test and submit a $25 application fee.  Applications and information packets may be downloaded at www.wpaoperators.orgor picked up in person between 9am and 3pm, Monday-Friday, beginning December 7-December 18, 2015 at 457 Christopher Road, New Alexandria, PA  15670.
