Lab Information

LAB REPORTS

Students are to complete the following six steps in their notebook:

1. Ask a Question: "How can I find the mass and volume of each item?"

2. Form a hypothesis (If I __do this_______ , then          this          will happen. You need TWO, one for volume and one for mass).

3. Create and Conduct an Experiment (Materials and Procedures: Steps taken during the lab)

4. Create and Conduct an experiment (3 observations with volume and mass measurements for each)

5. Analyze and Conclude (Bulleted List of what results you received from your experiment and how they relate to the hypothesis).

6. Communicate the results: Final Report/Essay. Complete sentences, At least two paragraphs! 1st paragraph: Lab Summary (Tell me in detail about the lab and your findings) 2nd paragraph: Reflection (What did YOU learn from this lab in general? What did you learn about mass and volume? What would you change next time in a lab setting? etc...) REFLECT on the lab done in class, like a journal entry.

The following Rubric is how the Lab Report will be graded, it is worth a total of 20 points.
