Get to Know Me

Hello!  I am Mrs. Trisha Green, a Kindergarten Teacher at Towamensing Elementary School.  Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I want to help you get to know a little bit more about me.

I have lived in Palmerton all of my life.  I attended East Stroudsburg University and graduated in 2008 with honors with a degree in Elementary Education.  I graduated in 2018 with honors Summa Cum Laude, when I received my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Literacy from Wilkes University.  After three years of being a substitute teacher for a few districts, I officially began my teaching career in Palmerton in 2012 as a Kindergarten teacher.  I have taught Kindergarten ever since and I love teaching young learners!  Everything is new and so full of wonder.  Every year, it amazes me just how much my students are capable of achieving.  It is my mission to instill a love for life-long learning in my students.

In my kindergarten classroom, I utilize flexible seating.  Students sit at various tables using seats such as wobble stools, ball chairs, stools, floor cushions, and scoop rockers.  I believe that students learn better when they are able to move while they learn and also have some choice as to how they learn best.  Students bounce and wiggle while they learn in my class!

Besides my teaching career in Palmerton, my husband and I are Palmerton residents and the proud parents of 5 children.  Family and teaching takes up most of my time, but some hobbies that I enjoy are baking, reading, drinking coffee, and shopping at Target.

I look forward to working with you to help all our children reach their fullest potential.  Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
