What's Happening in 5th Grade Language Arts?
Welcome back to school!  ELA grades will be determined by daily homework, metacognitive reading logs, literature circles, written responses, papers, projects, and quizzes. All homework is posted online and is accessible via the homework link above.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me.

Metacognitive Reading Logs
Students are expected to read 100 minutes per week and log those minutes on a metacognitive reading log.  Parents must sign to confirm the student is reading.  After each 20 minutes of reading, students must complete a metacognitive log entry.  Students should complete no less than 3 metacognitive logs per week to turn in for a grade along with the signed reading log.  These will be collected every Monday.
