3/ 2  - We will review the material from Outline #5.  Students will add to their outline with classroom notes and discussion materials.  Outlines will be collected and graded for completeness. Students will be given Study Guide 3.3 to complete.

3/ 3 Study Guide 3.3 will be reviewed first.  Then each student will receive a handout on the cell membrane which we will read aloud in class, highlighting important information.  Students will then be asked to complete the key and color in the drawing of the cell membrane. This sheet is due at the end of class tomorrow.

3/ 4  - Classes will have time to complete the coloring assignment on the cell membrane.  It is due in class today.  Students will then copy Vocab words #21 - 29 into their Vocab Foldies and define the words.  There will be a Daily quiz tomorrow on the vocab words.Then students will read about cell environments and osmotic pressure and outline pages 85 - 88 as well as copy Figure 3.23 on page 86. This is outline # 6 and it is due tomorrow.

3/ 5 First we will have our Daily Quiz on Vocab #21 - 29.  Then we will go over Outline #6. Students will add to their outline with classroom notes and discussion materials.  Outlines will be collected and graded for completeness

3/ 6 TODAY IS AN ACT 80 DAY - NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS!

CHAPTER TEST ON CELL BIOLOGY WILL BE ON MARCH 17th!

3/9  - Today we will be exploring the concept of Cell Tonicity.  We will be watching two short videos - one on osmosis, the other on diffusion. Then there will be a graded worksheet distributed concerning the concepts of isotonic, hypertonic and hypotonic environments. This sheet will be collected tomorrow. HMWK: Complete Study Guide 3.4.This will be a graded homework sheet.

3/10  - Study Guide 3.4 will be collected first.  The Cell Tonicity worksheet will be collected at the end of class. Students will add Vocab # 30 - 34 into their Vocab Foldies and define the words.  This is the last of the Vocab for this unit. Vocab Foldies for the unit will be collected tomorrow after the Daily Quiz. Students will then Read and Outline pages 89 - 91 on Active Transport. This is Outline # 7  - this is the last Outline for the unit. HMWK: Complete outline and study for the Daily Quiz. Finish the Vocab Foldie.

3/11  - We will begin the class with the Daily Quiz on Vocab 30 - 34. Then the Vocab Foldies will be collected. Next, we will review Outline # 7Students will add to their outline with classroom notes and discussion materials.  Outlines will be collected and graded for completeness. HMWK: Complete Study Guide 3.5. There will be a QUIZ on cell environments on Friday.

3/12  - First we will review the Study Guide 3.5.  Then we will watch a short video on Cell Transport. There will be worksheet that goes along with the video. There will be a QUIZ on cell environments on Friday.

3/13 There is a QUIZ on cell environments !! Students will then receive Chapter Review handout which will be due on Monday, 3/16.

               Spring begins with the Vernal Equinox ** which happens at the same moment across the world but is converted to local time. In our area, astronomical Spring officially begins on Vernal Equinox 2020 in Northern Hemisphere will be at 11:50 PM on March 19th. 

**The Vernal Equinox -  The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sun rises and sets due east and west.  At the equinoxes, the tilt of Earth relative to the Sun is zero, which means that Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun. (However, the tilt of Earth relative to its plane of orbit, called the ecliptic plane, is always about 23.5 degrees.)

3/16 Go over Chapter review.  Student outlines will be collected today for use on tomorrow's chapter test.

3/18 - We will begin the next topic by copying the new Vocab words # 1 - 11 and defining them on a new Vocab Foldie.  Students will then read and outline #1 pp. 134- 137 on the Cell Cycle.

3/19  - Spring begins with the Vernal Equinox **

First we will take the Daily Quiz on Vocab 1 - 11 and then go over the outline.  Outlines will be collected and checked for completeness.

3/20 Students will work on study guide 5.1 to learn more about the Cell Cycle.
