     I just want to inform you of some of the important things which we will be doing the next couple of weeks of school.  This week will be a short week due to the In-service Day yesterday.  Next week is '"Red Ribbon Week."  We will talk about about saying no to drugs and safety rules about taking medications.  On Friday, October 26, we will have the first schoolwide celebration in the morning and the Annual Halloween Parade in the afternoon.  The PTO will have a bake sale before the Halloween Parade.

     In November your child will receive their first reportcard and we will have parent conferences.  There will be a form for you to fill out about what time you would like to schedule your conference.  If you need two reportcards  or two conferences for one child please don't hesitate to ask!  We will also have our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner in November.

     In December we will be busy with different winter and Christmas activities.  Your weekly letters will give you all of the dates.  Remember if we have a late start, early quit, or NO school, you will receive an alert now phone call.  I trust this year will be like last year and we won't miss any days of school!

     We have started the "Bookit Program."  Every child should have their first book report turned in.  There are still some students who did not return their report as of today.  Please help your child remember to do their reports.  They must do 2 a month.  The dates are on the book report form as to when they are due.

     Please continue to practice daily the spelling words, and vocabulary words with your child.  Reading books should come home on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Please have your child read the story that we read that day in class.  I want to thank you for your cooperation!  I look forward to our upcoming conferences in November.  If you have any questions  about anything, please feel free to contact me.
