Important Information on Daily Lessons

Welcome to sixth grade.  This year all social studies classes will be studying American History from the writing of the Constitution to the Civil War.  After Thanksgiving, we will be studying the Presidency of Thomas Jefferson.  Included in this unit will be the Lousiania Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expedition.  Please feel free to contact me at any time.

This year in sixth grade social studies, our main focus will be American History. We will cover the time period from approximately 1780 until 1900. The main topics covered this year will be a review of the Constitution, Westward Expansion, Industrial Revolution, Slavery, Underground Railroad, Civil War, and Reconstruction. Throughout the year there will be several projects, both group and individual, that students will be working on to further enhance their learning experience. I am looking forward to make sure that the 2012/2013 school year is both rewarding and fun for all students. Feel free to contact me at any time.
