Welcome Parents & Students!

The first marking period is history and the school year is moving right along!  The students at S.S.Palmer and Parkside have been very productive in the art room.

Kindergarten created beautiful fall trees and are now working on a sponge printed conifer forest.

First grade explored the buffalo robes of the plains Native Americans and are moving onto a colorful little elf.

Second grade is finishing up their Kachina Dolls inspired by the Hopi Native Americans.

Third grade is working on a chalk landscape using simple perspective....these are looking awesome!

Fourth grade is wrapping up their Mexican Amate paintings and moving into the study of radial symmetry.

Fifth grade just finished some very beautiful fall leaves and will be moving onto an elephant composition using many of the principles and elements of art.

Sixth grade has been inspired by illustrator Maurice Sendak and has created some fantastic wild things.  These will be on display in the school library.  Students will be moving into the annual sneaker drawing to hone in on our looking and drawing skills.

As you can see we have been busy!  I am very excited about the quality of the students work and their awesome behavior during the beginning of the year!  Keep up the great work!!!
