Hi, everyone! Are you ready for a new year of mathematics?
I welcome and encourage parent/guardian communication. E-mail is the easiest way to reach me, or to arrange for a call-back. I appreciate any e-mail addresses you may provide.

PLATO Classroom Policy MRS. APPLEBY 2012/2013
“If a man neglects education, he walks lame to the end of his life.” - Plato
PLATO is a computerized math program designed to ensure that all students are exposed to the math skills they will need for graduation and post-high-school life. The material is organized into modules (lessons), and students may test out of any modules for which they demonstrate competency.
__________________________________________________________________________________
GRADING: Students will be graded each marking period on the number of modules completed and also on effort. If you are not making progress, not asking for help will be considered a lack of effort.
ASK FOR HELP! (I'm a math teacher - MAKE ME TEACH!)
COMPUTER BEHAVIOR: Accessing sites other than PLATO will result in ISS. Damage or changes to equipment will result in fine reports to cover the damage and/or detention or ISS.
TARDIES: Three (or additional) tardies will result in after-school detention.
DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR: Talking is not permitted because testing is on-going. Raise your hand for help or questions. Disruptive behavior will result in a warning and student conference, followed by a call to parent/guardian if necessary. Repeated disruptive behavior will result in after-school detention and referral to the office.
DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR/INSUBORDINATION: will be referred to the office. School Policy says:
“Follow directions the first time they are given.”

I look forward to your success.
