Social Studies

Most recently (may/june) we are studying the events that lead up to the American revolution.  If you are able to log onto www.discoveryeducation.com and following the directions below, log on to view assignments please view Chapter 5 PA and the New Nation. 

We have been practing the Preamble of the Constitution while studying the Declaration of Independance.  Watch the videos below to participate in activities we complete in class!!! ENJOY!

 

 

 

This year in fourth grade Social Studies, students will be learning various topics.  We begin the school year studying the first people who lived here and where they came from.  Later we research resources, types of land and major historical events.

Chapter One Social Studies covers Pennsylvania Natural Resources.  Students completed a lesson using technology, called a webquest.  At the end of the lesson, students had to create a cover for National Geographic.  Below you can view an interview discussing the project!  Enjoy!

Currently in Social Studies we are studying the first people in Pennsylvania.  Students are also learning about the different leaders that founded the area that we call HOME.  Please log on to discovery education to meet some of these brave individuals!! Look below at students completing the webquest.  Wow, those journals look like they took a trip through time!!
