What are we learning?
Reading
We are studying short e again this week (as in pet). Try to help your child at home with this sound. We will learn to identify words with beginning and medial e sound. We will blend words with Ee in them and spell our own words with these letters. We will continue to segment and blend larger words (four and five letter words, as opposed to three letter words).
Please continue to review the all the letters: Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn, Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss,Tt, Uu, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy and Zz . Your child should be able to identify, write and make the sound of each of these letters.
Our question of the week is "How do beavers build their homes?" We will be reading the story Building Beavers. We will be reviewing main idea & telling/asking sentences this week in Reading.
Math
We will finish subtraction on Wednesday and have a test on Thursday. Please make sure to review and practice this concept at home.
Science/Social Studies
- Our new unit in Social Studies is called "Our country, it's a great place!" We will be learning about symbols of our country, where people come from, and heroes of long ago.
Important Reminders
If you send in birthday invitations, you must send them in for the whole class OR all girls OR all boys. Thank you for your understanding.
