New Scholarships               

         * The Central Susquehanna Community Foundation is pleased to announce the Orlando C. Scopelliti Scholarship Fund.  This fund will provided scholarships for students entering a degree program for the care and / or education of the mentally and physically challenged.  Eligibility requirements and instructions can be found at www.csgiving.org and click on “Looking for a Scholarship”.  DEADLINE: April 10, 2013.

 

 

 

          * McCann School of Business will be awarding 8 tuition scholarships this year.  To apply, students must complete an application and submit a typed essay.  For more information, contact Sarah Hoffing a 570-556-4213 or email at sarah.hoffing@mccann.edu DEADLINE: April 20, 2013.

 

 

 

                  * ALSO:  If you are planning to attend McCann, you can take articulation exams and “test out” of four classes while still earning full credits at no charge!  If you are interested, please contact Sarah Hoffing or an admissions counselor at McCann.  REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 17, 2013.

 

 

 

          * The Joseph W. Makowski Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to a Southern Columbia Area senior who is pursuing a post-secondary education.  Applications are available in the guidance office and must be returned to Mrs. Fegley.  DEADLINE: April 22, 2013.

 

 

 

          * The Columbia County Conservation District sponsors two $250 scholarships to Columbia County seniors:

 

                            Edgar “Ted” Fenstermacher Scholarship – for students planning to pursue a degree in agriculture or environmental science

 

                            Lavere McClure Scholarship – for students planning to pursue a degree in natural sciences / environmental education

 

Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: April 30, 2013.

 

 

 

          * The Anthony A. Abraczinskas, Jr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to two Southern Columbia Area seniors.  Students must submit an essay.  Applications are available in the guidance office and must be returned to Mrs. Fegley.  DEADLINE: May 8, 2013.

 

 

 

          * The Poppy Grace McCoog Scholarship is now available in the guidance office.  This scholarship is open to Southern seniors who are pursuing a career in medicine.  Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Fegley.  DEADLINE: May 9, 2013.

         The Susquehanna Valley School Counselors Association Scholars Award is a $250 award for students entering a four-year or two-year / trade or technical school.  Applications are available in the guidance office and must be returned to Mrs. Fegley.  DEADLINE: April 5, 2013.

 

          The Tricia Shutt Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from SCA furthering their education in pursuit of a degree in science or a science related field.  Applications are available in the guidance office and MUST be returned to guidance.  DEADLINE: April 5, 2013.

 

 

          Elysburg Lodge No. 349 F. & A.M.  sponsors two scholarships.  The George J. Henry Scholarship will be awarded to applicants sponsored by or related to members of Elysburg Lodge #349.  There is also a general scholarship open to anyone residing in the Southern Columbia, Shamokin, Mount Carmel or Danville school districts.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: April 15, 2013.

 

          The Columbia County Farm Bureau sponsors a scholarship for a student continuing their education at a 2- or 4-year college or university pursuing a degree in agriculture.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: April 15, 2013.

 

 

          The Central Susquehanna Builders Association Women’s Council sponsors a scholarship to high school seniors who show solid academic performance and professional promise to the field of the home building industry.  Students must be enrolled in college in a building related trade for the Fall of 2013 to be eligible.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: April 15, 2013.

 

 

          A $600 award will be presented by the Bloomsburg Chapter BK, BS, and CI of the Philanthropic Educational Organization to a worthy female student who is pursuing studies in higher education.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: April 15, 2013.

 

 

          The Roaring Creek Valley Conservation Association sponsors a $250 scholarship for a student pursuing a degree in a field related to the environment (i.e. biology, chemistry, environmental science, etc.)  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: April 18, 2013.

 

 

          The William & Dora Kalnoski Scholarship Fund provides tuition grants to students majoring in art, architecture or related fields.  Criteria includes, but is not limited to, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation and financial aid.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: April 20, 2013.

 


          Empire Beauty Schools offers scholarship opportunities for interested students.  There will be a Scholarship Day at Empire Beauty Schools for students who apply.  Applications and information are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: May 1, 2013.

 

          The M. Catherine Murphy Scholarship Fund provides grants and interest-free loans to students who meet the following criteria: a high school graduate living in the Borough of Catawissa on the date of high school graduation and will attend Bloomsburg University.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: May 1, 2013.

        

          The Ralpho Area Women’s Club Award is a $250 scholarship awarded to a senior girl who is furthering her education, lives in Ralpho Township, and is involved in community service.  Applications are available in the guidance office and must be returned to Mrs. Fegley.  DEADLINE:  May 1, 2013.

 

 

          The Anthracite Area Penn State Club’s Edward M. Griffiths, II, Memorial Scholarship is $750.00.  Students must be accepted at Penn State or any of its branch campuses, including Penn Tech, for either the Summer or Fall Semester of 2013.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: May 3, 2013.

 

          The Central Susquehanna Chapter of Pheasants Forever offers a $100 scholarship to a senior who plans to further their education in the field of wildlife management / biology, natural resources conservation or a similar major.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: May 10, 2013.

 

          Knoebels offers 10 scholarships for students furthering their education that have completed successful employment at Knoebels during 2012 and be re-hired for 2013.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: June 16, 2013.

 

           The Northumberland County Conservation District and Don Cotner Farms of Danville award the $1,000 Don Cotner, Sr. Scholarship.  Eligible seniors must live in Northumberland County and plan to pursue a career in an agricultural or environmentally related field.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE:  July 1, 2013.

 

          The 2013 Masonic Scholarship Resource Guide is available in the guidance office.  The booklet contains scholarship, grant, and loan opportunities primarily for Masons, their siblings, children, grandchildren and members of the Masonic-related youth groups.  The booklet can also be found online at www.pmyf.org.

 

          Pittsburgh Technical Institute offers scholarships for enrolling students.  More information is available at www.pti.edu.
