          * The Elysburg Rotary Club would like to sponsor sophomores or juniors who would like to attend a Rotary Youth Leadership Program this summer at Juniata College.  This is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, confidence and communication skills.  Rotary will pay for your registration fee.    Please see Mr. Donlan or Mrs. Fegley by Wednesday, April 10 if you are interested in attending.

 

 

 

 

          * The Penn State Conservation Leadership School is a one-week residential program for students age 14 – 18.  This is a hands-on environmental camp.  Applications are available in the guidance office and are due April 30.

        

 

 

 

 

          Pennsyvania College of Technology will host a SMART Girls camp (Science & Math Applications in Real-World Technologies).  This camp encourages students in career options in emerging technologies, as well as encourage a strong foundation in high school math and science.  This camp is open to girls entering grades 9 - 11 in the Fall of 2013.  This residential camp costs $150 and will be held June 16 - 19.  Applications are available in the guidance office.   

 

      The Department of Mass Communications at Bloomsburg University is having a Technology Enrichment Camp that will introduce students to the dynamic field of mass communications. The focus will be on improving student understanding of how the mass media operate with the ultimate goal of enabling participants to create their own media, via video production and website design. During the camp, students will produce web and broadcast quality projects using equipment and software in the Mass Communication television studio, control room, edit bays and multimedia computer lab.The camp will be June 24 - 28 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Cost is $75.00.  Students must be incoming juniors and seniors.  To register, contact dmagolis@bloomu.edu.  DEADLINE: May 3, 2013.        

 

           The Pennsylvania State Police Youth Week will be held at York College on June 9 - 15.  It is a camp used to introduce students interested in going into law enforcement or a branch of the armed services.  This is NOT a recreational camp.  Any student between the ages of 15 - 17 before camp begins is eligible.  The cost is $150.00.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: May 10, 2013.

 

          Pennsylvania College of Technology is hosting "Designing a Digital Future Camp" on June 18 & 19 for students entering grades 10 - 12.  Hands-on workshops will include: gaming, simulation, computer programming, character development, interactive media, mobile application, social networking applications, and web design.  Cost is $50 and includes all activities, meals and on-campus housing.  Information and registration is available at www.pct.edu/digitalcamp.  DEADLINE: May 31, 2013.

 

 

          Keystone Boys State is an educational workshop for high school student leaders.  The hallmark and focus of Keystone Boys State is its experientially based government exercise, which spans the city, county and state levels of involvement.  The camp is held June 23 - 29 at Shippensburg University.  There is no cost for the camp.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  DEADLINE: June 1, 2013.

 

          Pennsylvania College of Technology and Susquehanna Health are hosting a Health Careers Camp on June 19 & 20 for students entering grades 9 - 12.  Hands-on workshops include: dental hygiene, paramedic technology, nursing, occupational therapy assistant, radiography, physical fitness specialist, physician assistant, and surgical technology.  Cost is $50 and includes all activities, meals and on-campus housing.  Information and registration is available at www.pct.edu/healthcamp DEADLINE: June 3, 2013.
