Course Description

    Seventh and eighth Grade Art is a continuation of and building on, of skills learned in fine art. Students will explore the principles and elements of design to create various works of art in different types of media. Students will also develop an understanding of the role art plays in society and how art is used to communicate ideas, aid in critical thinking, and foster an appreciation of the artistic heritage.

Expectations

   Students will follow all classroom and school rules.

   Students will follow proceedures for the handling and clean-up of materials.

   Students will complete assignments on time.

 Grading

   Students will be graded primarily on the projects and activities assigned in class. A portion of the overall grade will be attributed to a Daily Grade received based on work ethic, classroom participation, and adherance to classroom rules. Student work will be graded on criteria presented at the introduction of each new lesson or project.

     Homework, if assigned , will be graded as part of the particular project which it relates.
