Welcome to my website!

Hello, my name is Michelene Horning, and I will be the Reading and Composition Class as well as the Title I Reading Teacher here at Port Allegany High School for grades 7-8.

I have been teaching in the field of reading for over 23 years. Some of my teaching experience has been at the elementary school level, but the last six years have been here at the high school. Since reading is a lifetime skill, it is necessary to have both the ability to read for informational and educational purposes as well as for enjoyment.

Throughout my reading classes, I like to show that reading is everywhere in our world. There is very little you can do that doesn't require you to read. Along with this, I try to make my classes have motivational or interactive activities.
