At Towamensing all classrooms from Kindergarten to 6th Grade visit me for general music once every week, Kindergarten for 30 minutes and all other classes for 41 minutes. In general music we study and practice basic skills in singing, performing rhythm, reading music notation. We also study music history and traditions from around the world. PASD uses the music series Quaver Music, to support this learning.

Music class is a great place for our students to integrate learning from other subjects like Reading, Language, Math, History, Geography, Social Studies, and Science! Key concepts from all of these subjects are covered in different lessons throughout the year helping to support and expand on classroom learning.

Towamensing students are also privileged to have the opportunity of participating in instrumental and choral music in grades 4-6. To find out more about these exciting music activities please visit our Band and Chorus pages.
