Johnstown has a lot of programs to offer you and your family! Getting involved in sports, fitness classes, camps, and other physically active programs is a great way for your child to make new friends, and build confidence! Currently the Johnstown YMCA is offering youth soccer, volleyball, basketball, competitive swimming, and tumbling. The YMCA has strength and conditioning programs from youngsters as well as swimming lessons. This branch also offers a summer camp 1-2 weeks long. Summer camp is one way for your child to meet new friends but also enjoy many different activities they would miss out on at home. There is a fee for all YMCA programs, however, if your family meets the financial criteria the YMCA will waive up to 40% of the membership and program fee. East Hills Recreation- located at Penn highlands is offering youth basketball, volleyball, karate, karate tot program, and kickfit. All Karate programs are taught by Chris Miller a local Karate world champion. While the kids are practicing their skills you could also work out in their fitness centers.
