A Practical Guide to Social Emotional Support for the Young Child was designed by System 1-2-3 with Pittsburgh Public Schools Early Childhood Education and Intervention Division. It was created to provide early childhood educators a comprehensive list of practices they could use to improve the social and emotional outcomes of children they serve. The 200 PG-SES practices are organized under 20 topics (A through T) which were developed from the well known tiers of the teaching pyramid. Many of the practices can also be further considered by clicking on examples and applications of the practice. Another helpful feature of the site is that Tier II practices are organized around Pennsylvania Learning Standards for pre-kindergarten social and emotional development.
