Earth and Space 8th Grade Science

Pamela McElmoyle

Welcome!

Welcome to Mrs. McElmoyle's page!

I am looking forward to a positive learning experience with all of my students this year. A little bit about me. I am a graduate of Jim Thorpe High School. I have my undergraduate degree from Albright College in Reading, PA in Environmental Policy and Anthropology. After college I decided to travel the country backpacking and learning about local flora and fauna of various bioregions including the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast. While traveling, I also attained a MS in Environmental Education. After working for a non-profit in Baltimore, Maryland and an outdoor education center north of Houston, Texas, I decided I was home sick and wanted to make a difference where I grew up. I went back to school at Muhlenberg College to earn my teaching certification while substitute teaching during the day through the Guest Teacher Program. Immediately following my program, I worked as a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science teacher at an environmental charter school where I created interdisciplinary, thematic, place-based units based on the state standards.

I am a happy wife and mom of two beautiful 28 week preemies, LJ and Mazie. Our family loves music and to spend time camping.

I am blessed and excited to be here today and bring my experiences to your children and share my love of learning with each of them. I hope to instill the value of learning within them and encourage them to set and achieve their goals. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments. I will continue to work on my website and add pertinent information for you and your students.
